It was originally an injury that brought me to yoga, but while I realized that I was coming back with the hopes of putting my body back together, I was also putting my mind and spirit back together. I started to get excited. Yoga was all I was talking about to my friends and all I wanted to do…I was hooked! I wanted to learn more, and eventually realized that I wanted to help other people learn and get excited about yoga too. I took some yoga workshops and then took my teacher training with Yogi Vishva in the summer of 2008. My time on my mat has taught me a lot about myself, and I am constantly amazed at how the lessons I learn on the mat can be applied to the rest of my life (and vice versa) , in sometimes obscure and illuminating ways. Yoga has been my light in the darkness, my personal compass, and my inspiration to go back to my roots and explore my creative side. I like to look at yoga (and life!) as a chance to explore, both in our bodies and minds, and the beauty of the world around us. And I like to bring a little bit of my wonder and joy at that beauty into all of my classes, along with a strong sense of alignment, and an exploration of pranayama and meditation.I have been blessed with many amazing teachers, many of whom teach at the Bodhi Tree, who continue to inspire me, both in my practice and my teaching, but especially in life. Thank you!
